Thursday Sep. 9

Today’s favorite activity was making play-dough. The children did all the measuring, scooping, and mixing. This activity focused on our small muscle development, patience, and math skills by measuring and counting how many scoops of flour, water, salt, oil, and food coloring went into our play-dough. We then all took turns stirring the ingredients while counting how many stirs it took to mix. Finally we covered the table in flour, divided our mixture up and used our hands to kneed the dough and add more flour, helping to develop the muscles so important for writing! Who knew developing school readiness skills could be so fun?
