Wednesday is Spanish Day! “Monstruo” (Monster) was the word of the day. The children created their own monstrous by rolling dice to determine how many body parts they would have, so they also worked on the names of body parts and numbers. Then they got to pretend to be their monstrous while dancing with Mrs. C.
Today we baked Mini Apple Pies. We followed our recipe using cinnamon rolls for the crust, filling them with apple pie filling then topped their pies with more cinnamon rolls and icing drizzle! The class flattened, rolled, pinched and pushed their cinnamon rolls into their pie tins, and measured their apples.
During Centers we also talked about food groups, and healthy foods vs. treats or “sometimes foods”. Our current unit is Choices Impact Our Health, so we have been talking about healthy food often especially at snack time.
