It’s Music Monday with Mrs. Ankrum. Today the class learned a new song “There’s a Spider on the Floor!” and worked on color recognition and following directions with a fun music and movement song.
We worked one-on-one trying to finish up our Summatives. Today we talked about what we choose to do during centers. We also began decorating our giant pumpkin. I put out a new game today for centers time, spider webs made from bowls and yarn with spider rings inside. The goal is to use tweezers to remove the spiders from the webs.
We sang the Name Game to work on rhyming. We also got out the Mystery Box and had to guess what “creepy” thing was in it just by touch. The children used lots of descriptive words and made great guesses. They were all VERY shocked when I told them they were feeling SPIDER EGGS! After the shock I showed them it was really just popcorn kernels 😉
