Mrs. Voytko's Class Adventures

On Wednesday we started the day by creating some beautiful pictures using whiteboards. Monsters were a common theme! Thursday the class created houses! Tomorrow we will be creating a special surprise for families on Thanksgiving (:

Happy Tuesday! Today we started our morning with making cloud dough out of conditioner and corn starch! Then we headed outside for recess. We finished our day with playing alphabet bingo at the table! Grade cards were sent home in folders or book bags today (:

We started our morning with a cutting activity then headed outside for recess! During centers we finished up assessments for grade cards and then got to see Mrs. C for Spanish! Tomorrow is our last school day of the week for conferences on Friday!

We had such a wonderful start to the week! The class did so amazing helping me get to know them and their room (: I can’t wait to have more fun filled days ahead!

Today we dove a little more into our new unit, focusing on homes. We pulled up pictures of different types of homes all over the world and had some good discussion about how they were all different and what the reasons for those differences were. This morning we decorated our cubby name cards with stickers. Stickers are great for strengthening the muscles in hands and fingers to help improve writing. This morning we investigated our own pumpkins. Each one was unique, they were different sizes, colors, and textures. We started by drawing a picture of our pumpkin, measured how tall they were with cubes, counted the ribs, then drew a picture of how we would decorate them with a materials list. Today's Spanish word of the day is Calabaza or pumpkin. They used Jack-O-Lanterns to talk all about different emotions. We started a new science experiment.
